Plato (柏拉图,around 427 BC - 348 BC) was one of the greatest philosophers in ancient Greece. He was a student of Socrates(苏格拉底), who is known as the 'Father of Western Philosophy'.

Plato founded the Academy, which is considered to have been the first university in the world. Students learned different topics such as philosophy, mathematics, science, politics and law.

Plato wrote his teachings in dialogues. This writing style makes readers find his books interesting. Most of his ideas focus on what is right and wrong. These ideas still affect the modern world.
