Phishing is a deceptive tactic used by cybercriminals to steal our money or identity by tricking us into providing personal information on fake but seemingly trustworthy websites.
Attackers may capture sensitive data like bank account details and passwords. Some phishing sites can even install malware (恶意软件) on our devices.
These can lead to serious consequences, including financial loss and identity theft. Phishing attacks come in various forms, such as traditional email scams and more targeted methods like smishing (短讯钓鱼), which involves text messages frauds.
To protect ourselves from these threats, it is essential to remain vigilant. We should watch for spelling errors in links and unusual requests for personal information. Being cautious with urgent emails or messages from unknown sources is also advisable. If a message appears to be from someone we know, it is wise to contact them directly to verify its legitimacy.
